Peach star-shaped cookies

Ingredients:

1 can of peaches in VERA syrup
2 packets of puff pastry
egg
1 tbsp milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
caster sugar
lemon juice

Preparation:

Finely dice the peaches and mix with the cinnamon. Cut out stars from the puff pastry (cut out small circles from the leftover pastry - use everything, nothing will go to waste!). Place the peach filling on half of the cut out stars and cover with the other half. Prick the edges around with a fork to create a decorative pattern. Brush the cookies with the beaten egg and milk. Bake at 200°C for approx. 20 minutes until beautifully golden.
Once cooled, decorate with icing (icing sugar mixed with lemon juice - proportions: 1 cup icing sugar and 4-5 tablespoons juice). Finally, you can add festive sprinkles for even more charm.
